The users are collaborating partners from AECO (Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators) and researchers/locals/visitors which makes marine mammals sightings citizen based research. The reports are done in the field using an excel spreadsheet template. The database contains time, location, species and the number of individuals observed. See the attached field list for more information on individual fields. Afterwards, a biologist goes through the list adding quality assurance remarks about the content.
